Top 50 WRs in Week 6 fantasy football standard leagues [UPDATED]

Several quality names had been quiet in recent weeks, but they blew up in Week 5. We break down what it means moving forward and who to consider in our top 50 wide receiver players in standard fantasy football leagues.

Author’s Update 10/12/19 9:15 am: With the news of Davante Adams most likely missing Monday’s game we have removed him from the rankings along with Marquise Brown who is currently a game time decision, but reports do not sound optimistic. Brandin Cooks has returned to practice and he has been moved up the rankings along with Tyreek Hill who is a game time decision, but it does sound like he will play. Finally, players from the New England Patriots/New York Giants game have been removed.

Week 6 rankings were updated to reflect the most recent practice reports. Brandin Cooks and Davante Adams both have yet to practice and have been removed. Christian Kirk looks closer to a return and Preston Williams was seeing steady targets prior to his bye week so both have been added. We’ll continue to monitor the status of Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins, but Hill remains at the bottom of the rankings until we get more information.

Week 5 was the week of wide receiver retribution in fantasy football. Will Fuller was by far the most shocking player of the week. He was quiet for the first four weeks, but he made some noise to the tune of 217 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns. Adam Thielen expressed his displeasure with his usage and ended up with 130 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns. Michael Gallup returned after a two week absence and helped the Dallas Cowboys nearly pull off the comeback of the season with his 113 yards receiving and 1 touchdown. I’m pretty sure Mike Evans still plays professional football, but you’d struggle to find evidence if you only had Week 5 stats as a reference.

Week 6 is relatively light for injuries and byes for wide receivers. You’ll have to find replacements for Tyrell Williams, Allen Robinson, T.Y. Hilton and John Brown. Keep an eye on Davante Adams who is week-to-week with turf toe. Sterling Shepard is expected to miss his game against the New England Patriots Thursday so that may divert more passes to Golden Tate.

If you are a believer in balance then perhaps Stefon Diggs deserves some attention in Week 6. Adam Thielen was the belle of the ball in Week 5, but the Vikings get the super friendly Philadelphia Eagle defense in Week 6 so maybe both Minnesota wide outs can eat? Mike Evans also stands to have a nice bounce back game (if he is still playing) against the division rivals the New Orleans Saints. He tends to perform well against the team and Chris Godwin has certainly made the case that he deserves more attention from opposing defenses.
