Author’s Update 10/12/19 9:25 am: George Kittle was a late addition to the injury report with a groin injury. He’s been moved down slightly to reflect the possibility of reduced usage. T.J. Hockenson sounds like he will play so he has been moved back into the top 10. Vernon Davis is out another week therefore Jeremy Sprinkle takes his place in the rankings.

Week 6 rankings have been updated to reflect the most recent injury reports. Chris Herndon’s season debut will have to wait as he will miss this week’s game with a hamstring injury. T.J. Hockenson returned to practice and our weekly rankings, but he is not guaranteed to play. The same goes for Vernon Davis who continues to work his way back from a concussion.

Week 5 was a bit rough for fantasy football tight ends. George Kittle did get his first touchdown of the season on Monday night and Darren Fells turned his two receptions into two touchdowns. However, Travis Kelce and Zach Ertz only turned in decent performances and none of the other premiere options had noteworthy games.

Week 6 injuries and byes really shook up the rankings. Tight ends on bye include: Eric Ebron, Jack Doyle, Dawson Knox, Trey Burton and emerging star Darren Waller. Vernon Davis continues to battle a concussion, but he may be able to return in time for a great matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Most importantly, Evan Engram is in real danger of missing his Thursday night game against the New England Patriots.

With Arizona giving up the most points to tight ends on the season many DraftKings players will look to Austin Hooper to turn his steady diet of targets into fantasy points on Sunday. He seems to become a bigger part of the game plan when the Falcons are trailing and Arizona did look like they found a groove in Week 5. It will be difficult for Jared Cook to deliver back-to-back top 5 fantasy efforts on Sunday when he plays the Jacksonville Jaguars who have been defended the position well this season. If you are looking for a streaming or low cost option, Noah Fant could find room to operate against the Tennessee Titans.
