The Oakland Raiders head into their bye short-handed at wide receiver, and they’ve made a move to add some help. The Raiders sent a 2021 fifth round pick to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for Zay Jones on Monday evening, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.

The Raiders played the Chicago Bears on Sunday in London, and were without wide receivers Tyrell Williams, J.J. Nelson, and Dwayne Harris due to various injuries. Williams was inactive due to a foot issue. There’s no word on his status heading into the bye week, but given his injury and the others, the team needed bodies. The Raiders do not have to provide an injury report until Wednesday of Week 7, so we’ll have to wait and see who is available when the start preparations for their road game against the Green Bay Packers.

Meanwhile, Jones had fallen down the depth chart, with Duke Williams shooting past him on the depth chart. This past week, Jones had one snap, while Williams played 51 starting opposite John Brown.

Fantasy football analysis, Raiders WRs Zay Jones, Tyrell Williams

Jones looked like he might turn into a legit fantasy threat after a 2018 season in which he caught 56 passes for 652 yards and seven touchdowns. Instead, he leaves the Bills with seven receptions for 69 yards through four games. He’ll get some opportunities in Oakland, but there’s not much in the way of fantasy value to be had. I suppose if you’re in a particularly deep league he might be worth a flier, but otherwise, you can pass.

The big question will be what Williams’ status looks like next week. He remains the one viable fantasy wide receiver on this team.
