The San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns square off on Monday Night Football to close out Week 5. We opened with a fun NFC West matchup, and we get to close with what could be a highly entertaining inter-conference matchup of teams that entered the season with heightened expectations.
Your fantasy football lineups are mostly settled, but you might have one or two remaining questions whose answers might be the difference between winning and losing. If you’re playing some DraftKings Showdown, we’ve got lineup strategy and you’ll have your lineup settled by kickoff.
However, if you’re in a traditional fantasy football league, there is less work to be done. The biggest questions heading into this game are what to make of Tevin Coleman, and how Baker Mayfield and the Browns passing attack will perform against an improved 49ers defense.
Matchups are key, but it helps to see what the analytics are saying about potential performances. Looking at ESPN fantasy projections for season-long leagues (1/2 PPR setting), Nick Chubb is viewed as the likely big winner, while the 49ers triumvirate of running backs could combine for a sizable performance.
I’m high on the 49ers tonight, and think Jimmy Garoppolo and their defense could be the most consistent fantasy options vs. the Browns. Regardless, here are Week 5 MNF projections to help you further improve your fantasy chances!
