Editor’s update: The Chiefs never announced Patrick Mahomes’ ankle injury. He finished the game 22 of 39 for 321 yards and one touchdown.
The Kansas City Chiefs are in a tough Week 5 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, trailing 13-10 in the fourth quarter. Patrick Mahomes got off to a solid start, but he injured his ankle, and while it is not costing him playing time it is costing him success. For the night so far, Mahomes is 18 of 33 for 246 yards and one touchdown, but just 2 of 9 for 38 yards since aggravating the ankle, per Bill Barnwell.
Fantasy football analysis, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes
Mahomes had the ankle taped at halftime, according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, but the trainers are not looking at him as the second half progresses. He’ll remain in the game and likely finish this thing out, but it’s having a clear impact.
It’s been a rough game for the Chiefs, and Mahomes being limited by the ankle injury is going to have an impact on all the skill position players. We’ll keep an eye on this developing situation.
