The Green Bay Packers rolled through the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5, and running back Aaron Jones was the star of the day for Green Bay and for his fantasy football owners. Jones rushed for 107 yards and found the end zone FOUR times on the ground. He also added in seven receptions for 75 yards.

The Packers jumped on top 31-3, but Dallas fought back in the second half and benefited from some timely penalties. Dak Prescott connected with Michael Gallup late in the third quarter, and Ezekiel Elliott punched in a two-yard touchdown after Dak Prescott’s end zone interception was reversed thanks to a Packers illegal use of hands penalty. The Cowboys cut the lead to 34-24, but missed a field goal in the final two minutes that would have at least given them an opportunity for an onside kick.

The Packers improve to 4-1 on the season, while the Cowboys drop to 3-2.

Fantasy football analysis, Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones

Jones has been a touchdown machine, rushing for eight touchdowns so far this season. His yardage totals have been inconsistent, rushing for a combined 76 yards in three of the first four weeks this season, but he’s remained a productive fantasy back.

Jamaal Williams looked set to take a significant chunk of Jones’ workload in Week 3 when the former had more touches than the latter. However, Williams suffered a concussion on a late hit in Week 4, and is sidelined while in the concussion protocol. Tra Carson got some work behind Jones, but Aaron Jones is the go-to guy on the ground in this offense.

The Packers host the Detroit Lions in Week 6 on Monday Night Football. The Lions are off to a solid start, sitting at 2-1-1 after nearly upsetting the Kansas City Chiefs. Their run defense entered Week 5 ranked 12th in efficiency, but they entered their Week 5 bye having given up the fifth most fantasy points to running backs. Jones is a must start in Week 6.
