NFL Week 5 is officially off and running, and it got off to a crazy start. The Seahawks gave their fans heart attacks with a tight win over the Rams on Thursday Night Football. Normally reliable Greg Zuerlein missed a field goal attempt in the closing seconds, and the Seahawks held on for the win.
It was not a game to pick for Survivor, but I’m curious if anybody actually had the stones to roll with Seattle at home. Earlier this week, I suggested staying away, and given the close spread, I have to think most did.
With Sunday kickoffs here, it’s time to finalize your pick for an NFL Survivor pool. The Patriots on the road against Washington will be moderately popular, but I suspect the Eagles at home against the Jets will be the really popular pick. A pair of popular sleeper picks might be the Chargers over the Broncos (If you didn’t use LA against Miami already) and Bears over Raiders.
I used Philly in Week 1 in one of my pools, but still have them available in another pool. I’ll likely be using them in the latter pool. In the former pool, I’ve used Philly, Baltimore, Dallas, and the Chargers. The Chiefs might be my pick in that pool. I don’t trust the Chargers or Bears in their respective matchups this week. The Patriots still have several great options these next few weeks, so I’d like to save them. If I was really ballsy, I’d take the 49ers over the Browns, but I don’t think I’m feeling that.
Make sure and check out our safe, value, and trap pick suggestions for Week 5.
