The Buffalo Bills nearly upset the New England Patriots in Week 4, thanks to a strong defense and a strong outing from running back Frank Gore. They came up short, and as they head into Week 5, they’re hoping for some reinforcements while they hope for Josh Allen to be available after last week’s concussion.
Devin Singletary got in three limited workouts in his recovery from a hamstring injury and is listed as questionable. The decision is expected to come down to Singletary’s pre-game workouts. Last week, Singletary got in two limited workouts and was listed as questionable, but was a game-day scratch. Gore has handled the bulk of the work in his place, with T.J. Yeldon serving as a complement.
Fantasy football analysis, Buffalo Bills RB Devin Singletary
Even if Singletary can go, he’s looking at a platoon opportunity at best. Gore has averaged nearly six yards per carry the past two weeks, rushing for 185 yards and a touchdown. Singletary was looking great before the injury, averaging 12.7 yards per carry on ten rushing attempts.
His return will make for a deep backfield, but it makes for a tough fantasy football decision. Given Josh Allen’s struggles, this could end up being a backfield where both running backs have sufficient fantasy value to justify starting them. Singletary seems like the bigger upside guy, while Gore has the strong floor.
