The mustachioed one made a brief appearance on the Jacksonville Jaguars injury report earlier this week with a knee problem. However, he did not show up on the final Friday report, which means he can be expected as a full go for this Sunday’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Gardner Minshew has been a sensation this season, not necessarily a fantasy football sensation, but a Duval legend for replacing bizarre offseason acquisition Nick Foles and getting the Jags back to .500 through four games. What’s made him a decent fantasy option is that he hasn’t thrown an interception in any of his three starts (just one pick in relief of Foles in Week 1). He’s got seven touchdowns and 905 yards on the season. That 69 percent completion rate is very nice as is his 106.9 QB rating.
At any rate, don’t worry about his status this week. The Jock Strap King is starting.
Fantasy football analysis, Jacksonville Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew
The Panthers boast a pretty good defense that’s been pretty efficient at limiting quarterbacks. The good news is that Minshew faced a similar opponent two weeks again, throwing for just over 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Titans. There are definitely better QBs to start this week, but there’s no reason to think that Minshew can’t hit the decent floor he’s established for himself this season.
