The hits just keep coming for the Cincinnati Bengals. With No. 1 wide receiver A.J. Green still on the shelf with an ankle injury, the team was forced to put John Ross on injured reserve this week.
Ross injured his shoulder in Monday night’s loss to the Steelers. He was forced out in the second half after a hit from Joe Haden following a 10-yard reception. Since then it was revealed to be a problem with his collarbone that he will need time to deal with. The team put him on the injured reserve list on Wednesday, and he’ll be out at least eight weeks before he’s eligible to return.
Green never landed on the IR list, though that decision, in hindsight, looks like a questionable one. He had surgery on his ankle right as training camp started, and his expected return date gets pushed back seemingly every week. The latest report has him out at least through Week 6, and you don’t have to read very far between the lines to see that it will most likely be longer than that.
Fantasy football analysis, Bengals WR John Ross, A.J. Green
Without Green and Ross, things are bleak for the Bengals in general, but especially at receiver. Tyler Boyd is likely to have the most targets, and this might actually be a decent week for him against the Cardinals. Auden Tate will be the No. 2 receiver, and might be worth watching week to week, and this matchup might merit a flyer, especially at a mere $3,500 in DK leagues.
