The NFL is back for Week 5, and it’s time to figure out your fantasy football starting lineups. If you started Russell Wilson or Jared Goff, you’re off to a decent start for the weekend! But if you didn’t, you might have questions about who to start.
If your draft did not go quite as well as planned, there’s a decent chance you find yourself streaming quarterbacks week in and week out. We’re here to offer you some sleeper starting options, many of who might still be available in your league. All ownership percentages come via ESPN.
Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Saints shut down Dak Prescott, but look for them to struggle against the Bucs offense. They rank second worst in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. Winston continues to have accuracy issues, but since an ugly Week 1, he has bounced back and seems to be growing more comfortable in Bruce Arians offense. He’s owned in 65 percent of leagues, so if he’s free or on your bench, he could be a solid start.
Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals
You may laugh after his Week 4 stinker against the Steelers, but prior to that he averaged a shade under 20 points per game through the first three weeks. This week he faces a Cardinals defense that is third worst in points allowed to quarterbacks. He’s only owned in 17 percent of leagues, so he’s likely available.
Kyle Allen, Carolina Panthers
Allen was great in Week 3, and then lost three fumbles in Week 4. He faces a Jaguars defense that will be without Jalen Ramsey, and the Broncos did some solid work through the air last week. Allen is only owned in eight percent of leagues, so he’s certain to be available. He’s a bit more of a roll of the dice than the above quarterbacks, but his matchup is better than you might think.
