Top RB DFS plays for Week 5

It’s all about favorable matchups for these running backs in Week 5.

The Sunday kickoffs for Week 5 are almost here, and it’s time to start plotting out your Week 5 DFS lineups. In Week 4, a lot of the usual suspects dominated, but we had some under-the-radar names step up in a big way to key folks to victory.

Obviously, you would love to fill your daily lineup with Pro-Bowlers from top to bottom, but spending money on a top-tier player in one spot leaves you potentially scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.

So here are three running backs that could provide the best value for Week 5. Values from Draft Kings.

Ezekiel Elliott (DAL) - $8,300

This one might come as a bit of a surprise considering Zeke is the fourth-most expensive running back available in daily fantasy this week, but then you look at his matchup and see the Green Bay Packers and the 29th ranked rushing defense. After getting held to a pedestrian 35 rushing yards in Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints, you can bet Kellen Moore and the Cowboys staff will look to get Zeke and run game going against the Packers in the hope that it helps Dak Prescott and the rest of the offense.

Sony Michel (NE) - $5,500

Starting any Bill Belichick running back is always unnerving as it’s seemingly a different back who dominates touches week to week. However, the game script against Colt McCoy and the rest of the Washington football club likely involves a fair amount of grinding out the clock with the lead by running between the tackles. That’s not James White’s strength, so instead bank on Michel to get the bulk of the snaps in Week 5 for New England.

James Conner (PIT) - $6,200

The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to square off against the 27th ranked defense against opposing running backs in the Baltimore Ravens. After Nick Chubb was able to torch the Ravens last week to the tune of over 180 total yards and three touchdowns, Conner will hope to find similar success in Week 5. With Mason Rudolph still leading the helm at quarterback, the running game is likely what will help keep the Steelers competitive on Sunday.
