The Green Bay Packers have formally ruled out wide receiver Davante Adams for Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys. Adams suffered a turf toe injury last week on Thursday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles and was unable to practice this week.

The Packers made a concerted effort to get Adams the ball more in Week 4, with Aaron Rodgers targeting him ten times for 180 yards. For the season, he has 25 receptions for 378 yards.

Fantasy football analysis, Packers WR Davante Adams

The Packers-Cowboys game kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET, so this helps fantasy football owners. A game-time decision makes for difficult decisions, and so now we all at least know we can bench Adams.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Geronimo Allison are the big beneficiaries at wide receiver, while Jimmy Graham should be plenty busy in the red zone. Last week, Allison had three receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown, MVS had three receptions for 47 yards, and Graham had six receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown.

The Cowboys defense has given up the fifth fewest fantasy points to wide receivers, so these are not ideal matchups in Week 5. MVS and Graham are solid starts, but Allison is probably not quite what you want outside of deeper leagues or major depth issues on your roster.
