The New York Giants offered some hope running back Saquon Barkley might get back to play this week against the Minnesota Vikings, but as expected, he is going to be inactive. He continued his rehab work but was a DNP for team drills and has been ruled out for Week 5.

Fantasy football analysis, Giants RB Saquon Barkley, Wayne Gallman

It is not breaking news that Barkley will not play. The Giants played coy throughout the week, but a high ankle sprain takes time to get healthy. Barkley is saying he wants to beat the four to eight week timeline, but he could miss two more weeks and still hit the early end of that timeline.

Wayne Gallman will get a second straight start, and look to build off a solid effort against Washington in Week 4. He rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown, and added 55 receiving yards and a touchdown in the passing game. He faces a sizable step up in competition with the Vikings defense, but you know you’ll get some solid volume. He’s a worthy flex play, and offers some low end RB2 value.
