The Philadelphia Eagles face a scuffling New York Jets squad in Week 5, and they’ll look to get a needed win without one of their playmakers. Head coach Doug Pederson announced on Friday that wide receiver DeSean Jackson is officially out for Sunday’s game, per Eagles reporter Jeff McLane.

There had been some hope that Jackson would return for Week 5, but his abdominal injury remains an issue. The Eagles welcomed back Alshon Jeffery last week from injury, and he, Nelson Agholor, and Zach Ertz will be the three big weapons for Carson Wentz at home against the jets.

Jackson has been out since suffering the injury in Week 2, and has yet to return to the practice field. He’s not somebody to waive yet considering how well he performed in Week 1, but it’s certainly a little frustrating waiting to see when he might return. In his absence, Jeffery and Agholor are both solid starts against an atrocious Jets defense.
