Full list of Week 5 straight-up picks

The NFL kicks off Week 5 on Thursday evening with the Seattle Seahawks hosting the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football. Last week brought a wild one between the Packers and Eagles, and the NFC West can bring its own brand of insanity. The Seahawks and Rams are tied at 3-1, unexpected a game back of the 49ers. It’s safe to say this game is kind of a big deal.

I’m back with my weekly NFL picks. For Thursday I put together a complete list of straight up picks, and Sunday morning I’ll have my picks against the spread given how much can change between now and then.

Last week we had two huge matchups of unbeaten teams. The favorites won both in Chiefs-Lions and Patriots-Bills, but both underdogs put up a game fight while coming up short. The Lions and Bills seem to be contenders and not pretenders.

This week, we don’t get the same high profile matchups, but we do get some fun ones. The Packers and Cowboys square off at Jerry World, with both teams leading their division at 3-1. The potentially sneaky good game of the week is Jaguars at Panthers. Gardner Minshew is looking like the real deal, while Kyle Allen is looking to build off a second straight win in place of Cam Newton.

And we get to close out the week with a potentially fun Monday Night Football contest between the 49ers and Browns. After some shaky MNF matchups out of the gate, this one is probably the second best to date coming in — behind only Texans-Saints to open the season.
