Best lineup strategy for Rams vs. Seahawks in Week 5 TNF Showdown

Cooper Kupp is back to terrorizing opposing defenses, and looks like the best play on the board in this Showdown

Anytime the Rams play on a Monday or Thursday the past year or so, it turns into a classic, so we’ve got a good one to look forward to Thursday with the Rams taking on the Seahawks in Seattle. Let’s look at some players to target in DraftKings’ $1.6 million six-man Showdown slate -- with an entry fee of $10 and a first-place prize of $400,000 -- and who to use in the critical Captain slot:

CAPTAIN OBVIOUS

Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles Rams ($14,400)

Remember back in 2012, when Adrian Peterson came back after eight months from an ACL tear and proceeded to shred the NFL for 2,097 yards? Kupp is following very closely in Peterson’s footsteps, putting up 388 yards on 32 receptions and three touchdowns after four games. That’s an average of about 27 DK points per week. Average. Kupp has been targeted 46 times, including 15 this past Sunday. He is a special player doing special things and that doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

CAPTAIN COURAGEOUS

Will Dissly, TE, Seattle Seahawks ($11,400)

It’s apparently not a fluke. Dissly made it three weeks in a row with a massive total at a position that hands big games out like manhole covers. Close games, blowouts for, blowouts against, it doesn’t matter anymore. Dissly is going to find the end zone and put up at least 18 DK points and now amount of logic or narrative can stop him. His salary savings is highly appealing if he can be signed off for 24 Captain points.

FLEX MEN

Chris Carson, RB, Seattle Seahawks ($8,200)

Carson came back from the edge on Sunday, carrying the ball a season-high 22 times for 104 yards and catching four passes for 41 yards. It was easily his best performance of the young season and helped erase the four fumbles through three games. Rashaad Penny returns this week, which should cut into Carson’s production a tad, but at least he proved last week he deserves the lion share of carries/

Gerald Everett, TE, Los Angeles Rams ($3,200)

If you’re looking for a big-time salary saver, Everett came back to life last weekend, corralling 5 of 8 targets for 44 yards and a touchdown. He had 6 catches on 7 targets in the previous three games combined. Fellow tight end Tyler Higbee ($2,000) also had seven targets, catching four for 41 yards. Everett played the most snaps of the two, and should be considered the lead tight end for now.
