The NFL is rolling through the halfway mark of the 2019 regular season. Week 8 saw 18 teams play the eighth game on their schedule, and the remaining 14 teams will do so in Week 9. This week brings four more byes, including the Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Rams, and New Orleans Saints.
This means some big names in daily fantasy football will be sidelined. Quarterbacks on bye include Drew Brees, Matt Ryan (rehabbing his sprained ankle), and Jared Goff. Wide receivers not playing include Julio Jones, Michael Thomas, Cooper Kupp, and Tyler Boyd. Running backs out include Devonta Freeman, Joe Mixon, Todd Gurley, Alvin Kamara, and Latavius Murray. And no Austin Hooper, Gerald Everett, or a rehabbing Jared Cook for the tight end aficionados.
The big names sitting out means you’ll need to get creative in figuring out your daily fantasy football lineups. Running back will be a tough one to figure out with roster changes shaking things up. Kenyan Drake is likely to start for Arizona following a trade, Mark Walton should be starting for Miami, and either Tra Carson or Ty Johnson will be starting for Detroit.
The week will feature plenty more news, injury and otherwise, and we’ll be tracking it all here. Feel free to bookmark this story stream and return for the latest daily fantasy football news and analysis.
