Chase Edmonds injury status update

Edmonds injured his hamstring in the third quarter and never returned to the game. His status will be something to watch heading into Week 9 as the Cardinals face the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football game. With David Johnson still injured as well, Zach Zenner could be the name to watch.

The Arizona Cardinals find themselves in a predicament in the third quarter of Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints. Running back Chase Edmonds left the game with what appeared to be a leg injury. He limped off with assistance from trainers and seemed to have issues putting pressure on his left leg or foot, per ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss.

UPDATE: The Cardinals have announced that Edmonds has a hamstring injury and his return is questionable. David Johnson is inactive with his own injury.

Edmonds had seven rushes for eight yards and two receptions for five yards when he got hurt. Zach Zenner replaced him and is the only other primary running back on the game-day active roster.
