The Green Bay Packers travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8 coming off a monster game for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He had six total touchdowns in a dominant effort against the Oakland Raiders, which made for a relatively quiet day for the ground game.
Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams both scored in the passing game, but it was a low total in the rushing game. Jones had 50 rushing yards on 12 carries, while Williams had five yards on a mere three carries. They each added four receptions and a combined 59 yards to go with their receiving touchdowns.
Jones and Williams face a Chiefs defense that was dominant in Week 7 even after Patrick Mahomes got hurt. They held Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman to a combined 71 yards on 21 carries. Freeman had a rushing touchdown and added four receptions for 32 yards in the passing game.
Fantasy football analysis, Packers RBs Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams
Williams return in Week 6 after missing time with a concussion and had two more touches than Jones. He looked like the superior back after Jones had dominated in his absence. Things reverted in Week 7, with Jones getting 16 touches to Williams’ seven. The game script will determine how this one goes, but Jones is a solid start this week. The Chiefs defense is not as good as it looked in Week 7 and I suspect we see a lot of Jones. He’s an RB1 this week.
Williams is a tougher call. If you’re in a 14- or 16-team league, you might not have the depth to sit him. But he’s more of a roll of the dice, so it makes more sense to sit him if you have a better flex option.
Start/Sit Recommendation
Aaron Jones: Start
Jamaal Williams: Sit
