The Philadelphia Eagles are struggling right now, having lost two straight to drop to 3-4. They enter Week 8 facing a matchup that is a little more difficult than they might have expected back in April when the schedule was released. The Buffalo Bills are 5-1 and have given up the third fewest points in the league. They rank 12th overall in defensive efficiency, although their rushing defense ranks 23rd in efficiency.
The Eagles offense has been inconsistent of late, and the ground game has been up and down. Jordan Howard and Miles Sanders are splitting carries, while Sanders has been the more active back in the passing game. On the season, Howard has 347 rushing yards at 4.5 yards per carry and 53 receiving yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Sanders has 220 rushing yards and a touchdown at 3.5 yards per carry and 230 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy football analysis, Eagles RBs Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders
The Bills are not great in run defensive efficiency, but they are also only giving up the 11th fewest fantasy points to running backs. Efficiency measures how the yards are acquired and how they contribute to winning, while fantasy points is simply a matter of volume. Howard and Sanders could get a long look most of the game given the Eagles own struggles with a consistent passing game.
Sanders remains a decent flex option in PPR leagues, but should be avoided in standard leagues. The yardage totals and end zone opportunities are going to be limited. Howard is not a great option for standard leagues, so you’re best suited looking for some other options if at all possible.
Start/Sit Recommendation
Jordan Howard: Sit in standard
Miles Sanders: Flex start in PPR, sit in standard
