UPDATE: Herndon is INACTIVE as expected and will not play.
Officially, the New York Jets have listed tight end Chris Herndon as doubtful. Realistically, it does not look like he will play this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This has been a rough season for Herndon who showed real promise last season with a total 502 yards and four touchdowns. He started the year with a suspension, and then a hamstring injury has bedeviled him since he was eligible to return. He still has not played a single game during the 2019 regular season, but at least it looks like he is getting a little closer to returning.
He was limited in practice all week, but ended up with the doubtful designation on the final injury report.
Fantasy football analysis, New York Jets TE Chris Herndon
Without Herndon, the Jets tight end position is nothing to see, and certainly not one you should be considering in any kind of fantasy game. Ryan Griffin is the main guy without Herndon on the field, and he just doesn’t produce.
Once Herndon does return, it still might be worth giving yourself a week or so to see how he factors into the team’s game plan.
