Dede Westbrook injury status update, 11:47 a.m.
The Jaguars released their Week 8 inactives and wide receiver Dede Westbrook is ACTIVE. Doug Marrone said Westbrook would be playing, so this is confirmation that he had no setbacks in pre-game warmups. He, D.J. Chark, and Chris Conley have a great matchup in front of them, although Gardner Minshew has grown inconsistent in recent weeks. Westbrook and Chark are both solid starting options, but we also want to see if Minshew can get a little more consistent.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook is officially listed as questionable this week, ahead of the team’s home game against the New York Jets. The shoulder injury that had him listed with the same designation last week is still bothering him. However, head coach Doug Marrone did say that Westbrook will once again play through it.
The shoulder injury did not seem to be a huge problem for him last week against the Bengals. He caught six passes for 103 yards last week, but he did not find the end zone. In fact, he hasn’t scored since the first week of the season. Last week’s game was his first with more than 100 yards.
Westbrook has a slight edge in targets for the team, but the touchdown drought limits his fantasy viability to the second tier of players at his position.
Fantasy football analysis, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook
He clearly isn’t back to full speed, but Westbrook should be fine this week in your lineups. He feasted on an inferior team last week, and has another hapless bunch coming to town this week.
Westbrook only costs $4,500 in DK leagues this week, which makes him a nice little bargain for the second receiver spot in your lineups.
