If you are looking for a fantasy football tight end to claim off the waiver wire in Week 8, Josh Hill of the New Orleans Saints might be your guy. Starter Jared Cook missed last week’s game with an ankle injury, and he sat out practice on Wednesday of Week 8. There’s time for him to return, but the practice week is not off to a good start.
Hill started in his place last week against the Chicago Bears and caught three passes for 43 yards and a touchdown. This week, the Saints host the Arizona Cardinals before heading into a Week 9 bye.
Fantasy football analysis, Saints TEs Jared Cook, Josh Hill
Hill’s three receptions were all three of his targets, so it’s not like he was a prolific target for Teddy Bridgewater. Wide receivers Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn and running back Latavius Murray all finished with more targets.
It’s worth noting however, that this week the Saints face a Cardinals team that is the worst in the league at covering tight ends. They’ve given up more fantasy points to tight ends in the league, and it’s not particularly close. Hill offers solid streaming value in Week 8 if you need some short term help.
