Alvin Kamara remains sidelined with ankle injury

The New Orleans Saints kicked off Week 8 Wednesday practice with the return of Drew Brees to the practice field. However, they are still without Alvin Kamara due to his high ankle sprain. He sat out last week after gutting out Week 6, and has yet to return to practice.

Latavius Murray started in Kamara’s place last week and rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns against the Chicago Bears. He’ll get a matchup with a decent but shaky Arizona Cardinals defense in Week 8.

The Saints go on bye after they face the Cardinals and return to action in Week 10. A high ankle sprain can be a three or more week injury depending on the severity. Until we know more, we can’t say what Kamara’s timeline is at this point.

Fantasy football analysis, Saints RBs Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray

If Kamara does not play, Murray is a solid start this weekend against Arizona. The Bears defense is struggling of late, giving up big games to Murray and Josh Jacobs in successive weeks. The Cardinals meanwhile, gave up 72 yards and a touchdown to Saquon Barkley in his first game back since his own high ankle sprain. The Cardinals are playing better defense than the Bears right now, but Murray is still a quality start in Week 8 fantasy football.
