A.J. Green injury status, 10/24 2:37 p.m.
The Bengals have formally ruled out wide receiver A.J. Green, according to beat writer Geoff Hobson. He is continuing to rehab the ankle injury he suffered at the start of training camp and will not be back until at least Week 10 after the team’s coming bye week. That means Tyler Boyd and Auden Tate will remain the team’s starting wide receivers and Alex Erickson will be the third option for fantasy football owners to consider.
The Cincinnati Bengals have not ruled out wide receiver A.J. Green from their Week 8 London game against the Los Angeles Rams, and he appears to be making some progress. The team practiced on Wednesday and Green was listed as limited.
This marks an improvement in his return from August ankle surgery. He was a limited participant in practice two weeks ago, but then was downgraded to DNP all last week. Getting back into practice is a positive step forward, even if he does not play this week.
There have been reports Green will not be ready to go until after next Tuesday’s trade deadline. The Bengals travel to London this week and then have a bye next week.
Fantasy football analysis, Bengals WR A.J. Green
Green will need to string together a few practices before he’ll be able to get back into game action. Odds are pretty good he does not play, but there is still some time. He is expected to make the trip, so there is a chance this turns into a game-time decision. It’s a 1:00 p.m. game, so you’ll know early on what the status is.
If Green does not play, Tyler Boyd, Auden Tate, and Alex Erickson will remain the team’s starting trio of receivers. Once Green does return, Erickson likely loses time with Boyd manning the slot and Tate and Green starting outside.
