The Pittsburgh Steelers host the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football to close out Week 8, and they expect to have running back James Conner on hand. Conner suffered a quad injury in the second half of the Steelers Week 6 win over the Chargers, leaving after 16 rushes for 41 yards and seven receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown. He told the media on Wednesday he feels healthy and expects to play on Monday, according to ESPN’s Brooke Pryor.
Fantasy football analysis, Steelers RB James Conner
This is a choice matchup for Conner. The Dolphins are abysmal in all facets of the game, and are currently giving up the second most fantasy points to running backs. The bye week gave Conner time to get healthy. The team’s first practice report arrives on Thursday, and while he might be eased back into things, I doubt we see a DNP.
Benny Snell is his backup while Jaylen Samuels remains out with a knee injury. Snell ended up leading the Steelers in Week 6 with 17 rushes for 75 yards. The game script coupled with Conner’s injury led to that result. Snell remains the clear No. 2, but he could be a speculative flex play in deeper leagues if the Steelers dominate this one.
