The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a tough divisional loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and now travel to face a strong Buffalo Bills defense — likely without one of their big playmakers yet again. The Eagles had their first Week 8 practice on Wednesday, and an abdominal injury continues to sideline wide receiver DeSean Jackson, per head coach Doug Pederson.

Jackson suffered the injury in Week 2, and has yet to return to practice. He did not get surgery as there was concern that would result in a longer absence. However, we are at five games and accounting with no end in sight. The Eagles have a bye in Week 10 after this game and then a home game with Chicago. It seems a good bet Jackson will not return before the bye.

Fantasy football analysis, Eagles WR DeSean Jackson

Fantasy owners shouldn’t unload Jackson at this point, but if you’re feeling the roster squeeze, you might need to make a tough decision soon.

In the meantime, the Eagles passing game is coming off an awful showing against Dallas. Alshon Jeffery was the top wide receiver with two receptions for 38 yards, followed by Nelson Agholor with two receptions for 24 yards. Tight end Dallas Goedert was the top pass catcher, with four receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown. It’s not going to get any easier in Week 8 against Buffalo. Jeffery remains the guy to start, but Week 8 is more likely a sit than start weekend for him unless depth is a problem for you.
