The NFL wraps up Week 7 with an underrated Monday Night Football contest between the New England Patriots and New York Jets. The Jets are only 1-4, but they welcomed back Sam Darnold last week, and are looking to turn things around. The Patriots are undefeated and head into New Jersey a a 9.5-point favorite.
Your fantasy football lineups are mostly settled, but you might have one or two remaining questions whose answers might be the difference between winning and losing. If you’re playing some DraftKings Showdown, we’ve got lineup strategy and you’ll have your lineup settled by kickoff.
However, if you’re in a traditional fantasy football league, there is less work to be done. If you were waiting for Julian Edelman news, the Patriots wide receiver appears set to play. The Patriots already ruled out Rex Burkhead and Josh Gordon, so you likely have already settled your running back and wide receiver positions in advance of this.
Matchups are key, but it helps to see what the analytics are saying about potential performances. Looking at ESPN fantasy projections for season-long leagues (1/2 PPR setting), James White is projected for slightly more points than backfield-mate Sony Michel. The Jets receivers are difficult to sort through, but Jamison Crowdert gets the edge for now.
I think the Jets could keep this game close, and it’s because Sam Darnold upgrades the offense in a big way compared to Luke Falk. If the Jets win this though, they’ll need their defense to offer a bit more than the Giants did in the second half of Thursday Night Football 11 days ago. Regardless, here are Week 7 MNF projections to help you further improve your fantasy chances!
