There have been some questions about the Green Bay Packers offense and Aaron Rodgers’ performances this season. He’s been productive but it’s felt like there have been some inconsistencies.
It’s safe to say those questions will go away for the time being. Rodgers had a mammoth performance against the Oakland Raiders in Week 7. He threw for 429 yards and five touchdowns and added a touchdown run. He is the highest scoring playing in virtually any fantasy league, including DraftKings DFS, where he leads Marvin Jones, who had four touchdowns, and Chase Emonds, who had three touchdowns of his own.
Rodgers and the Packers were favorites in Week 7, but there was talk of a potential Raiders upset. The Raiders actually took a 10-7 lead in the second quarter, but late in the second quarter the Packers turned on the jets. They scored a pair of touchdowns in the final few minutes of the second quarter, added two more in the third quarter and one in the fourth. Rodgers threw touchdowns to running backs Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams, tight end Jimmy Graham, and wide receivers Jake Kumerow and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
Not too shabby for Rodgers. He and the Packers offense get to face the Chiefs in Week 8. The Chiefs defense had been shaky, but looked great against Joe Flacco and the Denver Broncos. Rodgers & Co. offer a slightly stiffer challenge.
