How to handle Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Geronimo Allison injuries in Week 7 fantasy football [UPDATE]

Three receivers, three different injury situations. Here’s what you need to know about the Packers pass catchers.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Geronimo Allison injury status update

Both wide receivers are ACTIVE for Week 7 against the Oakland Raiders. Davante Adams is inactive with a turf toe injury. MVS and Allison are both good fantasy football flex options, with WR2 upside. The Packers offense is struggling, so it’s hard to say with certainty that they will hit that upside. But they’re worth a look given the byes and injuries.

For a while it looked like the Green Bay Packers would be without their three best receivers for a Week 7 game against the Oakland Raiders. However, while they definitely won’t have their top option, Davante Adams, there’s a chance they’ll have the other two on the field.

Adams, the team’s leading receiver, is out this week. He is dealing with a toe injury. Adams has now missed the Packers’ last two games, and his situation will be worth keeping an eye on after he misses his third straight this week.

Allison missed practice this week because he’s in the league’s concussion protocol. However, after being listed as doubtful on Friday’s injury report, he was upgraded to merely questionable on Saturday. That’s a good sign for his availability this week.

Valdes-Scantling is officially listed as questionable with ankle and knee injuries. He didn’t practice this week either, and looks to be a game-time decision. He’s still got the best chances out of all three for playing this week.

These are always tough situations for fantasy, and you’ll just have to keep your eye on the news right up until active rosters are due 90 minutes before kickoff to be sure. If Valdes-Scantling does play, he’s the best receiving option on the team and a mid-level consideration overall. If both MVS and Allison are out, Allen Lazard is the next man up. Tight end Jimmy Graham is healthy, and he may end up seeing the bulk of targets if none of these three receivers can go.
