Gerald Everett really embodies the spirit of a season-long fantasy football, low-end tight end. His range of outcomes is as wide as a rainbow, from 1.7 FPTS in Week 1 vs. the Panthers to 23.6 FPTS in Week 5 vs. the Seahawks. It’s essentially what happens when you’re on a team that loves to run two-TE sets, with Tyler Higbee seeing enough of the snaps to really cut into Everett’s production. But ceiling is the big thing here and that’s something Higbee just doesn’t really possess. So as long as Everett is running more vertical routes downfield, he’ll have more value in fantasy football.
Fantasy Football Analysis, Los Angeles Rams TE Gerald Everett
If you’re hoping for a ceiling game from Everett, well this may be the best week possible. The Rams play the Falcons in a dome. Atlanta is allowing 388 total yards of offense per game. Only the Dolphins are allowing more points per game than the Falcons at 31, so enter Sean McVay’s offense and a plethora of weapons for Jared Goff and we should have no problem hitting the insane O/U of 54.5. The game script plays in Everett’s favor tremendously, plus he’s been getting more looks lately with 24 targets over the past three games. I guess my main concern is TDs; Everett isn’t getting as many red zone targets and the Falcons have been vulnerable to TEs in those situations. But really all Everett needs to do is break one and catch around his average of 4-5 targets and you’re sitting easy in PPR. In deeper formats, you won’t be able to stream Everett, but if you’re in a 10-team league, he may be available and worth scooping up if you’re starting TE is on bye (OJ Howard, Greg Olsen, Vance McDonald). But if you’ve secured Everett already, again, he’s in a great spot.
