The Green Bay Packers injury report is growing, and saw two notable names sitting out Wednesday’s Week 5 practice. Wide receiver Davante Adams is dealing with a turf toe injury and Jamaal Williams is working through the concussion protocol, and both sat on Wednesday, according to Packers reporter Rob Demovsky.

Adams limped off the field last Thursday due to the injury after hauling in ten receptions for 180 yards. The team made it clear in the first quarter they wanted to get him more involved, and he was amassing huge numbers before the injury.

Williams had worked his way into more of a time-share with Aaron Jones, but suffered a concussion on a late hit last Thursday. The concussion protocol requires a player be asymptomatic at rest and after exertion before he can be cleared for football activities.

Fantasy football analysis of Packers WR Davante Adams, RB Jamaal Williams

The Packers badly need Adams available for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys. The Dallas defense is sufficiently shaky that Adams could do serious damage. If he is unable to play, Marquez Valdes-Scantling is the prime beneficiary. He has been the No. 2 wide receiver to Adams, and would get a boost — along with tight end Jimmy Graham and wide receiver Geronimo Allison.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur had allowed for a time share between Williams and Jones, but that went out the window with Williams’ injury. Jones has struggled to do much with his opportunity on a yards per carry basis, but has been a strong red zone presence. Jones also saw a boost in the passing game late in last week’s game, so Adams absence could mean more of that for him.
