We’re coming off a week where paying up at D/ST was not a popular option, and it showed when it came to ownership. The Week 7 slate swings back in the other direction, with some pricey options becoming attractive again. The value isn’t quite as good, but there are also some salary saving spots on this slate.
Here are three D/ST plays that standout the most on the Week 7 main slate, in no particular order. Salaries are via DraftKings.
Bills ($4,300) vs. MIA
I think a lot of eyes will go to the 49ers D/ST ($4,100) with the hype surrounding the undefeated team. While I expect them to get a win in Washington, it’s a lot to pay for a D/ST on the road. The Bills haven’t allowed more than 17 points to an opponent this season, and scored 11 DKFP in that game. Buffalo held Tennessee to seven points in its last game, sacking Marcus Mariota five times, and scoring 11 DKFP on the road. A home game against the Dolphins is a potential shutout spot. Remember, the Bills gave up just 16 points to the Patriots in Buffalo.
Colts ($2,000) vs. HOU
The Colts are coming off their strongest defensive performance of the year, holding the Chiefs to just 13 points on the road (10 DKFP). Now the Colts welcome in a divisional foe, with five of the last six games between these two teams going under, and 25 of the last 31 AFC South games played in Indy going under. This one could me more of a struggle, and the Colts have had the bye to game plan for a team they know well. Houston’s offensive line gives the Colts the upside for plenty of sacks at a discounted salary.
Washington ($1,700) vs. SF
Last week, the Jets D/ST was a very popular play in cash games, since it was at home against the Cowboys, and just $1,500. This is kind of the same idea. Washington has scored 5-10 DKFP in four straight games, including 5.0 in its last home game, which was against the Patriots. While undefeated, the 49ers don’t quite have the firepower the Patriots do. A score of 5.0 DKFP would be welcomed here at this price.
