Latavius Murray fantasy owners, come on down!
The New Orleans Saints released their final injury report for Week 7, and running back Alvin Kamara is officially out due to knee and ankle issues. The injury has been described as a high ankle sprain, which could result in a multiple week absence. Cook is dealing with his own ankle injury, suffered this past week. He missed all three days of practice before being ruled out.
Kamara was banged up last week, but gutted out the game. Clearly he was not 100 percent and all things considered, he probably should have sat out that game. Instead, he’ll sit this week and Latavius Murray will get the start at running back. Although Kamara started against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, Murray led the team with 44 rushing yards on eight carries, and also had three receptions for 35. Kamara had 31 yards on 11 rushes and seven receptions for 35 yards.
Fantasy football analysis, Saints RB Alvin Kamara, TE Jared Cook
The Saints face a normally stout Chicago Bears defense that was gashed by Josh Jacobs for 123 yards. Murray is not a clear RB1 in this game, but he is a very useful start in traditional fantasy football leagues, and an intriguing DFS value at $5,100. The Bears could bounce back, but considering how Jacobs looked, I’d bet on a solid showing from Murray.
In Cook’s absence, Josh Hill will get some looks at tight end. He holds limited fantasy value, so you’re best looking in other directions at the tight end position.
