What to do with Demarcus Robinson, Mecole Hardman, Byron Pringle in Week 7 fantasy football

The Chiefs have a whole bevy of wide receivers looking for targets behind Tyreek Hill in Week 7. We break down the options with Sammy Watkins sidelined for Thursday Night Football due to an ankle injury.

The Kansas City Chiefs will be without wide receiver Sammy Watkins on Thursday Night Football when they travel to face the Denver Broncos. The receiver has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. This comes as WR Tyreek Hill makes his second straight start since returning from a broken collarbone.

Tyreek Hill is a must start in fantasy football, but the big question is what to do with the other three receivers on the roster. Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson, and Byron Pringle all have had their standout moments over the past six weeks, but it’s difficult to figure out which one we can expect to break out with Hill back in the lineup.

Last week, in Hill’s return, Hardman had four receptions on four targets for 45 yards. Dating back to his first start in Week 2, he has 16 receptions (27 targets) for 291 yards and two touchdowns. Robinson was held without a reception last week while being targeted four times. Dating back to Week 2, he has 17 receptions (31 targets) for 281 yards and three touchdowns. Pringle had two receptions on three targets for 24 yards. Dating back to Week 2, he has ten receptions (13 targets) for 147 yards and a touchdown.

Fantasy football analysis, Chiefs wide receivers

If you are trying to decide between Hardman, Robinson, and Pringle, it’s a tough call. Hardman makes the most sense based on draft pedigree. The Chiefs spent a 2018 second round pick on him, while they spent a four round pick in 2016 on Robinson, and signed Pringle as a 2018 undrafted free agent.

I could see the performances changing week-by-week, but Hardman is probably the safest of the three. That being said, if byes or injuries are leaving you short-handed, all three have some modest fantasy upside week in and week out.

Start/Sit Recommendation

Mecole Hardman: Flex start
Demarcus Robinson: Flex maybe start depending on your depth
Byron Pringle: Flex maybe start depending on your depth.
