Vernon Davis returns for more limited practice in Week 7

Washington tight end Vernon Davis continues his limited work in practice. We’ll continue tracking the fantasy implications as he tries to get through the concussion protocol in Week 7.

Washington hosts the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7, and they continue to track tight end Vernon Davis in the concussion protocol. Davis suffered the concussion in Week 4 and sat out practice in Week 5. In Week 6, he was limited all week before being ruled out for the game. On Wednesday of Week 7, he got in another limited practice.

The concussion protocol requires a player be asymptomatic at rest and then after exertion before he can be cleared for football activities. Davis being listed as limited suggests he is still in the protocol.

Case Keenum is likely to get another start, which is an improvement for all Washington skill position players. However, they face a stout 49ers defense that has given up the third fewest fantasy points to the tight end position. If Davis does play, there is still a chance for some garbage time stats, but if he’s healthy, he’s not a good fantasy play.
