A.J. Green injury status update, 10/18 1:37 p.m.
The Cincinnati Bengals officially ruled out wide receiver A.J. Green for their Week 7 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Green had been a limited participant in practice during Week 6, but he was unable to go at all this week. He is rehabbing from August surgery on torn ankle ligaments. In his absence, Tyler Boyd and Auden Tate will get the start against a Jaguars defense that just traded away cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
A.J. Green injury status update, 10/17 1:16 p.m.
Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green remains out of practice and odds are not looking good for him to return this week as the team prepares to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. Green met with the media before practice on Thursday and said that he still has a little ways to go, according to Bengals reporter Tyler Dragon. Green practiced in limited fashion twice last week, but is a DNP so far this week. Tyler Boyd and Auden Tate will remain the starters during Green’s absence, and both are solid starts this weekend against a shaky Jaguars defense that just traded Jalen Ramsey.
A.J. Green injury status update 10/17 7:39 a.m.
Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green ended up not practicing on Wednesday after head coach Zac Taylor said he would get in some work. A week ago, Green was a DNP on Wednesday, but then got in limited work on Thursday and Friday, so this is a step back. He is rehabbing an ankle injury he suffered at the start of training camp that resulted in surgery. He seems all but certain to not play this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green is working his way back in practice, but his status for Week 7 is still uncertain. Head coach Zac Taylor told the media that he does not know if Green will debut this weekend, according to NFL Network. He said Green will not practice in full, and they’ll evaluate him after to see how best to proceed. Green remains day-to-day, according to the Bengals coach.
Fantasy football analysis, Bengals WR A.J. Green
This is about what to expect. Green returned to practice last week but it was described as very limited. That suggests he is still slowly getting worked back into things. Odds seem good he will not play this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
That would mean Auden Tate retains his fantasy value for at least one more week opposite Tyler Boyd. The Jaguars just traded away Jalen Ramsey which guarantees he won’t be opposite any of the Bengals wide receivers. That adds a little extra value for Boyd and Tate in Week 7.
