The Cowboys practiced on Thursday and wide receiver Amari Cooper sat it out again. He told the media the injury has plateaued and he plans to practice on Friday and test it out, according to Cowboys reporter Michael Gehlken. Odds seem pretty good that barring a setback, Cooper will show up as questionable and a game-time decision for Sunday Night Football. That’s certainly not ideal for making a start decision given the late start, but that’s life I suppose.

The Cowboys returned to practice on Wednesday, and wide receiver Amari Cooper is not practicing due to his thigh injury. Head coach Jason Garrett said the team is monitoring his situation and “hopefully he can practice as the week goes on,” according to beat writer Michael Gehlken. This does not bode well for his availability this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Michael Gallup would be the Cowboys No. 1 receiver in Cooper’s place, and Tavon Austin would likely be the big fantasy football beneficiary with Cooper absent.

The Dallas Cowboys could be shorthanded in Week 7 when they host the Philadelphia Eagles in a huge divisional matchup on Sunday Night Football. Wide receiver Amari Cooper suffered a thigh bruise in Week 6, and his availability for Week 7 is in question.

On Monday afternoon, beat writer Todd Archer described his chances of playing as “in serious question.” Fellow reporter Mike Fisher tweeted Tuesday morning that Cooper was in danger of not playing in the game. Cooper left Sunday’s game after two targets, finishing the game with one reception for three yards.

Fantasy football analysis, Cowboys WR Amari Cooper

If Cooper cannot play, Michael Gallup becomes the team’s No. 1 wide receiver. He had four receptions for 48 yards in the team’s loss to the Jets, and in spite of missing two games, is second on the team with 24 receptions for 387 yards and a touchdown.

Tavon Austin emerged as a go-to option for Dak Prescott in Cooper’s absence. With Randall Cobb inactive due to a back injury, Austin led the team with five receptions for 64 yards. If Cobb is unable to play in Week 7, Austin becomes a solid one-off fantasy option against the Eagles.
