Pope Francis tweets about saints, accidentally uses New Orleans Saints hashtag

The Pope might not have intended, but he offered a call-out for the New Orleans Saints on Twitter.

If you had questions about starting New Orleans Saints players in fantasy football or placing a wager on the Saints against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6, Pope Francis might have offered some help.

The pope tweeted “thanks to the Lord for our new #Saints.” All Saints Day is November 1st, so I suppose maybe he was pointing to that. I’m a lapsed Catholic, so I could very well be wrong. However, in using a hashtag for Saints, the Pope inadvertently called out the New Orleans football version!

Pope Francis tweet mentioning Saints

It’s an amusing occurrence thanks to the NFL buying branding with Twitter hashtags. I would have expected the tag to grab the Saints logo to be Who Dat or something along those lines, but instead it’s a simple “Saints.”

What does this actually mean? Clearly if you have any Saints on your fantasy football team you should be starting them. And if you’re considering whether or not to bet on the Saints as 2.5-point underdogs, this might be a sign!

OK, actually not as I will be taking the Jaguars, but if this offers necessary inspiration for your wagering and fantasy decisions, have at it!
