Amari Cooper Week 6 injury update, 5:12 p.m.
Cowboys WR Amari Cooper suffered a quadricep injury during Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. He has been announced as questionable to return. He was dealing with a quad injury on the injury report leading up to the game and it would appear he aggravated it to some extent.
There was some concern about Amari Cooper’s status this week. The Dallas Cowboys receiver was limited in practice every day with ankle and quad injuries. However, he was not on the final Friday injury report, meaning he should be good to go this week in a very attractive matchup against the New York Jets.
Though we don’t know the exact reason why he was limited, it’s not far-fetched to think that maybe he just needed a rest after blowing up the Packers secondary last week. Cooper had a career-best 226 yards in that game, and he scored a touchdown, despite Dallas’ losing effort.
That was Cooper’s second game this season with triple-digit yardage. It was also the fourth game, out of five, that he found the end zone. That’s a real nice weekly floor for a wide receiver.
Even with No. 2 receiver Michael Gallup (who also had a nice game) back in action last week, Cooper was the man for Dallas.
Fantasy football analysis, Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper
Cooper’s career day came against a Packers secondary that’s proven itself to be pretty darn good this season. That was the first time since Week 3 that they’ve allowed more than 200 yards receiving in total. So imagine what Cooper can do against the New York Jets, who have been getting burned by offenses all season.
His DK salary this week is $7,000, which is still a bargain.
