How to handle Christian Kirk’s injury in Week 6 fantasy football

We still don’t know if the Cardinals will have Kirk in the lineup this week, so here’s a little advice on how to plan accordingly.

Hot off their first win of the season, the Arizona Cardinals might not have second-year wide receiver Christian Kirk in the lineup for the second week in a row. Kirk is still recovering from the ankle injury he suffered in Week 4. He did, however, return to practice this week, getting in work each day, albeit in a limited role. Officially, the team has him as questionable, and it will be one of those dreaded game-time decisions if he’ll play.

Kirk was in the middle of a productive stretch before he went down. In the second game of the season, he had six catches for 114 yards. The week after that, he caught 10 out of 12 targets thrown his way with 59 receiving yards to show for it.

The Cardinals aren’t going anywhere this season, so there’s no need to rush Kirk back onto the field. When he does return, he makes for a nice fantasy option since Arizona figures to be throwing the ball while playing from behind most of the time this season.

Game-time decisions are always tricky, especially for a later afternoon game. There’s a chance we’ll know more Sunday morning, which would still give you time to make a lineup decision on Kirk. He’s got an attractive matchup against a terrible Atlanta pass defense, and at $5,200 in DK leagues, he could be a nice addition to your lineup. It’s a good sign that he practiced this week. Just keep an eye on the news.
