Alvin Kamara injury status update
Alvin Kamara is ACTIVE for Week 6 vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars. He popped up on the Thursday injury report with an ankle issue and missed Friday’s practice before being listed as questionable. Latavius Murray could see some additional work if Kamara is still not 100 percent, but Kamara will likely be the clear No. 1. You start him if you have him, while Murray should be benched for the time being — outside of the deepest of fantasy football leagues.
We don’t know much about Alvin Kamara’s ankle injury that popped up during practice this week. He turned up on the injury report Thursday as a limited participant in practice. On Friday, he did not practice. The downward trend is a big concern for the New Orleans Saints and fantasy decision-makers alike.
Kamara started the season with a bang, racking up 169 very nice yards in a Week 1 win over the Texans. However, his totals have fallen off a little since Teddy Bridgewater took over for an injured Drew Brees. It hasn’t been enough to keep him out of your lineup though. Even last week he had a total of 104 yards from scrimmage. The Saints still provide a solid floor of 20 touches for him, which explains why he’s still the third-most expensive running back in DK leagues this week at $8,000.
Fantasy football analysis, New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara
Kamara is officially listed as questionable on the injury report. The fact that he didn’t turn up there until Thursday and then didn’t practice at all on Friday is a huge concern. And this is a matchup that has huge potential for his numbers.
The Saints play a 1 p.m. game, so you can keep your eyes on the inactive list, which comes out 90 minutes before kickoff, before making your decisions. If he can’t go, Latavius Murray would be the main man in the backfield. Even if Kamara does play, he could be limited, which makes Murray a sneaky addition, especially at just $3,700 in DK leagues this week.
