If you’re a DFS player, you know that a successful lineup has to have a solid combination of big-name star power players that are known commodities with a few high-upside players that provide a little more bang for your buck.
If you pay up for a big name in your daily fantasy lineup, you definitely cannot afford for that player to put up a dud of a game in your lineup.
So here are three quarterbacks that will likely provide some of the worst value for Week 6. Values from DraftKings.
Patrick Mahomes (KC) - $7,500
An injured ankle which could hamper his mobility and an inability to establish the run game make for a bad recipe for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Houston Texans defense will be able to force Mahomes to stay in the pocket and beat them down the field without having to respect the running backs. As the most expensive quarterback in daily fantasy this week, Mahomes will still put up good numbers, but just not at a level worthy of his price tag.
Matthew Stafford (DET) - $5,300
The Green Bay Packers’ defense looks to be the real deal, and they are currently ranked sixth against the pass in 2019. Back at home at Lambeau they welcome Stafford and the Detroit Lions. Stafford comes significantly cheaper than Mahomes, but he’s got a tough matchup against the Pack. Without elite weapons around him in the Detroit offense, avoid Stafford this week.
Jared Goff (LAR) - $6,100
Speaking of a lack of elite weapons around him, Jared Goff is likely without both Todd Gurley and Brandin Cooks this week. The Los Angeles Rams are set to face the undefeated San Francisco 49ers for the first time this year, and San Fran is bringing the fourth-best pass defense into the matchup. Jared Goff has failed to regain his level of productivity from 2018, and that massive extension he filed this past offseason is starting to look like an overpay.
