Dallas is coming off of two straight disappointing losses. The first was a two point mishap in New Orleans in which they were unable to score a touchdown. Last week they were drubbed at home by the Packers, and were dominated by Aaron Jones on the ground. The team is clearly missing Tyron Smith in a bad way, but the good news is that he could return for Week 6. That would be a tremendous boost to Dak Prescott and the entire offense. With that said, the Cowboys still have the third-highest point differential in the league. They could easily turn this around rather quickly. Dallas is still first in Football Outsiders offensive DVOA behind Prescott’s 9.4 yards per pass attempt and 84.8 QBR.

The Jets are 0-4 with a -68 point differential, which makes them one of the more disappointing teams of 2019 on paper. However, it is important to understand context when evaluating them. Sam Darnold has played in just one of their games so far, and will start his second game in Week 6 after missing time with mono. It doesn’t require much explanation to establish that going from Darnold to Luke Falk will destroy any chance you have at winning. Unfortunately, Darnold is not coming back to a perfect team. Chris Herndon, who was supposed to be returning from suspension, will be out after an injury in practice. That is a major loss for a team that lacks any other touchdown scorers of significance.
