A.J. Green injury update, 10/11 1:36 p.m.

A.J. Green returned to practice on Week 6, but the team has officially ruled him out for their Sunday matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. He’s clearly making some progress, but not enough to get back out there. The Bengals host Jacksonville and the Los Angeles Rams the next two weeks after this before their Week 9 bye. It seems a decent bet Green returns to action before the bye, but we’ll see what Week 7 practice reports bring.

The Cincinnati Bengals got some good news on Thursday of Week 6. Wide receiver A.J. Green is expected to practice on Thursday for the first time since July 27th, according to Bengals.com writer Geoff Hobson. Green is expected to practice in a “very limited” manner, but was spotted with helmet and pads.

Green tore ligaments in his ankle at the beginning of training camp. He had surgery and pushed back on an initial six-to-eight week timeline.

Fantasy football analysis, Bengals WR A.J. Green

Green seems unlikely to play in Week 6, and given “very limited” it seems like it might be at least another couple more weeks at best. The Bengals have a bye in Week 9, which happens to come during the NFL trade deadline. Keep him on your roster and continue to temper expectations.

Trade rumors will pick up in the coming weeks, and that’s where his fantasy football value is of particular note. The Bengals are awful and plenty of teams could use a No. 1 receiver. Green’s value could grow considerably.
